I write thoughtful self-help.

Principle 4 is up! I wrote about the benefits of consistent, all-day movement.
Here’s a thing most people don’t know: workouts don’t lead to weight loss (it’s true), but moving all day does.
I’m not against working out, and in fact, do. But, many people starting on the road to a balanced, healthy life immediately put their heads down and go to a gym. I don’t think that’s step one. Step one is finding movement you enjoy.
My drug, er, movement of choice is walking.
True story, I walked myself to radiation treatments and back for weeks. Sometimes I clocked four miles a day. It helped immensely.
I say without a hint of exaggeration, walking can save the world. We’d be healthier, get to know our neighbors, have better relationships and finally get the pedestrian-friendly spaces we deserve.
If walking isn’t your thing, but biking is, go for it. There is no prize for punishing yourself with workouts you are going to dread.
There is joy in movement, go find yours.
💪🏼

In Principle 4, I encourage you to get a lot more movement by taking the stairs. Looks like there are other benefits as well. It all adds up.
