This week I’m getting my house ready for sale, and slowly moving into my condo. Is there an agony quite like moving?
Side note: I texted my father about dreading this move. His reply, “ 3 moves = a fire 🔥” 😂 😭
Instead of an essay, scroll down to check out some of my favorite recent stories. They are all little slices of a life that reveal something off, out of the ordinary, or delightfully weird.
People are crazy and I have the links to prove it. My favorite? The one-star reviews of national parks.

Bill Cunningham was the longtime fashion photographer for the New York Times. His accomplishments and influence are enormous, but it’s the human being I find so charming. He was a soulful artist, visionary, and champion of the oddball.
Most of all he was sincere. How else can you describe someone who invents a hat that resembles a clam, with the wearer’s head as the pearl?
Be sure to look at the photos.

I raised chickens for a year or two. It was fun, especially when we were incubating the chicks. We’d watch them peck and run around for hours. My first batch had a mix of sexes, and to my shock at not even a month old one rooster was terrorizing his mates non-stop. He met his end in our garage.
This essay about an unruly rooster is a beautifully written gem. Going to this much trouble to save a dangerous rooster is certifiable.

Can we all agree that building an entire career with the name ‘Junglepussy’ equals winning at life? I feel robbed this wasn’t explained to me at career counseling in high school.
All kidding aside, it’s a sly and brilliant bit of social commentary.
